Theory/History/Ear Training Exams 2013

Congratulations to the following students who received an average score of 91 or higher!

I thought it would be fun to surprise the students with awards for high scores. Tanner, Lauren, and Gabi each received a $10 gift certificate to Coldstone. Karly and Brooklyn each received $5 cash.

Brooklyn Taggart is headed to BYU as a Piano Performance Major!

Brooklyn Taggart began piano lessons at the age of 9. She has studied piano with me ever since. I'm not sure where the time as flown, but she just auditioned for the Piano Performance program at BYU and was accepted. It is a very competitive program and only 10 were selected from a pool of 80+ performers! She will be studying under Dr. Irene Peery-Fox. We will miss her dearly but are excited so see what her future holds.

Gabi Deucher and Faith Nixon selected as Encore Jr. Solo Festival Outstanding Performers

Gabi Deucher
Faith Nixon
Congratulations Gabi Deucher and Faith Nixon*! They were both selected as "Outstanding Performers" in the Encore Jr. Solo Festival held the beginning of February. Each of them performed in the Honors Recital and received a cash award of $20! Their divisions were very large--over 100 competitors in each--and only the top 15% of performers were selected. Way to go girls!

*Faith is a student of Dr. Irene Peery-Fox', but as my daughter, I like to include her in everything my studio does.

Gabi and Faith are also cousins and pals! This was a photo from an ensemble recital when they were duet partners.

Karly Lenhart and Anika Baker will solo with the Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra May 3rd and 4th

Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra held it's first annual "Aspiring Musician's Competition". After both a Preliminary and Final Round, judges selected four pianists and three instrumentalists out of 71 competitors to solo with the orchestra. Two of the pianists selected were Anika Baker (Elementary Division) and Karly Lenhart (High School Division). They will perform at Timberline Middle School on May 3rd and May 4th. The whole studio should show their support and attend one of the nights! CONGRATULATIONS!!
